PriceMinder Privacy Policy
JRS Digital develops PriceMinder. This policy explains what the app accesses and stores. Your financial data stays on your device.
Data we do not collect
PriceMinder does not have user accounts, analytics or tracking SDKs. It stores subscriptions, bills, prices and promo end dates in local storage on your device. JRS Digital does not run a server that receives this information. If you uninstall the app without exporting your data first, the data will be deleted and we cannot recover it.
The one thing the app does fetch
PriceMinder downloads a public, anonymous catalog of current NBN and mobile plan offers (provider names, prices, plan details) over HTTPS so you can compare it against what you pay. This is the same static file for every user. The request does not include your name, your subscriptions, your device ID, or any other identifying or personal information.
App detection
To help match offers to services you may already use, PriceMinder checks whether a small, fixed list of specific telco and NBN provider apps are installed on your device. This uses Android's package-visibility APIs against an explicit, hard-coded allowlist. The app cannot scan or view your full list of installed apps.
Export and backup
If you use the app's export feature, PriceMinder creates a file and hands it to the share sheet or file picker you choose (e.g. your own cloud storage, email, or files app). The destination is the one you choose. JRS Digital does not receive a copy.
Children's privacy
PriceMinder is not directed at children and, since the app collects no personal data from any user, this does not change based on age.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices ever change, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
