PriceMinder — Privacy Policy
PriceMinder is developed by JRS Digital. This page explains what data the app collects and how it is handled. In short: your financial data never leaves your device.
Data we do not collect
PriceMinder has no account system, no sign-in, and no analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind. Everything you enter — subscriptions, bills, prices, promo end dates — is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. We have no server that receives this information, so we cannot see it, sell it, or lose it in a breach. If you uninstall the app without exporting first, that data is gone — we don't have a copy either.
The one thing the app does fetch
PriceMinder downloads a public, anonymous catalog of current NBN and mobile plan offers (provider names, prices, plan details) over HTTPS so you can compare it against what you pay. This is the same static file for every user — the request does not include your name, your subscriptions, your device ID, or any other identifying or personal information.
App detection
To help match offers to services you may already use, PriceMinder checks whether a small, fixed list of specific telco and NBN provider apps are installed on your device. This uses Android's package-visibility APIs against an explicit, hard-coded allowlist — the app never scans or has visibility into your full list of installed apps.
Export and backup
If you use the app's export feature, PriceMinder creates a file and hands it to the share sheet or file picker you choose (e.g. your own cloud storage, email, or files app). That file goes wherever you send it — we never receive a copy.
Children's privacy
PriceMinder is not directed at children and, since the app collects no personal data from any user, this does not change based on age.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices ever change, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
